Throughout the past year, many of us have been confined to our homes and millions of people worldwide have been forced to practice social distancing and stay at home. If you have found yourself in that position, I am here to help you look at the positive side of it and use your time wisely using these following fun tactics!
Have a movie marathon
This is one of my favourite things to do when I’m bored, whether it is binge watching all of the Harry Potter films, or trying out some of the movies that won the latest Oscar awards, grab your popcorn and settle down on your sofa!
Learn a new language
If you are looking to learn a new skill or simply just impress your friends with a new party trick, learning a language is a great way to get your brain working and you will definitely learn a few words and phrases to use for your next holiday abroad.
Sell some of your old clothes
A great way to pass the time is to declutter your closet and sell some of the items that you haven’t worn in a while. Not only will it pass the time but it’s a good way to make some extra money too! Get rid of anything you don’t wear or that doesn’t fit you anymore, and you can even post them on websites like Poshmark or Depop to make some extra cash.

Have a dance party
This may sound like a really cheesy thing to do, but sticking on your favourite songs will help pass time and also boost your endorphins.
Find some new games to play
If you are sitting at home with nothing to do, a popular way to pass the time is to play some games.
Read a book
Not only can you educate yourself by reading books but you can pass the time and combat boredom. If you have plenty of time to kill, you can make a start on the book charts or simply just make your way through your reading list.
Make a TikTok
If you can’t beat them, join them! You can learn a dance, hop on a trend or create something original. It’s one of the easiest apps to go viral on, so shoot your shot.
Bake something
If I have a few spare hours on my hands, I usually find myself cooking a new recipe or baking some sweet treats. One of my go-to recipes is triple chocolate brownies – the more chocolate the better!
