What would you do with a bit of extra cash if you had it? Would you pay off debt, save it or would you treat yourself? If you have a bit of spare time on your hands, here are some ways you can pocket an extra £100 a day for next to no hassle.
Take Part In Online Surveys
Surveys are a great way to generate some extra cash. Some survey sites can work better than others, and most have a pay-out threshold.
The main survey site I use is Swagbucks. You can actually get £3 free when you sign up to Swagbucks using my referral link here. By completing surveys, searching the web, watching videos, playing games and shopping, you can earn points. You can then use your points to buy gift cards (Amazon, Paypal, Mastercard etc).
Have a read of my review of the survey site Inbox Pounds here.
Matched Betting
Matched betting is a great tax-free and risk-free way to make a guaranteed profit from free bets and incentives offered by bookmakers. It is completely legal, and contrary to popular belief it is not gambling!
You can check out my Step-By-Step Guide on how to start matched betting here.
Start A Blog
Blogging is one of my biggest hobbies, however I never believed I would actually make money from it. Many people have managed to make a second income or even a full-time income from blogging, which is unbelievable!
Firstly, decide what you would like to blog about. By creating great, detailed content that your viewers can benefit from, you will be able to monetise your blog from there. Although be aware that this is not a get rich quick scheme!
If making money from a hobby is something you are keen on, but blogging is not your thing, you could take a look at https://www.lifegag.com/
You can read my How To Start A Blog in 2020 post here.
Become A Mystery Shopper
Mystery shopping is a great way to make some serious money, while also pocketing free stuff at the same time! By evaluating companies’ products and services and completing a report, you can receive payment for doing so.
I have eaten at some lovely venues through mystery shopping, all for free!
Have A Decluttering Session
Decluttering and selling your things can be a great way to make some extra cash. After you have gathered some items you would like to sell, you can attend a car boot sale or sell on online sites such as eBay. I have written a post about how to do this and the best sites to use, which you can check out here.
Offer To Babysit
Babysitting is an easy way to make money, especially on a night when you can put the kids to bed and watch a film while they sleep! You can advertise your service to your friends and family, on a local Facebook group, or on local babysitting websites.
Enter Competitions
You can win some amazing prizes by entering competitions. This includes cash, holidays, cars – there is a competition for just about anything!
Write An Ebook
By writing an eBook, you can create a passive income. You can write this on almost anything you wish and turn something you are passionate about into some extra cash! You can write your book on Microsoft Word, and self publish it on Amazon.
Shop Through Cashback Sites
Rather than making money, cashback sites help to save you money when you purchase items online. You receive a percentage of the price you paid back, which is perfect for saving some money when it comes to birthdays and Christmas.
Become A Virtual Assistant
A virtual assistant (VA), is someone who provides administrative services to clients who need occasional admin work. A virtual assistant works on a self-employed basis, and tasks may include:
- Managing emails
- Making travel arrangements
- Bookkeeping
I wrote a full post on how you can make money from becoming a virtual assistant, which you can check out here.
Start A YouTube Channel
Thanks to today’s technological society, people are now becoming millionaires from creating and posting YouTube videos. You can monetise your videos by using ads, selling products and merchandise and being sponsored by brands.
Become A Delivery Rider
As long as you have a bicycle, motorbike or a car, as well as a smartphone, you can sign up to be a delivery rider/driver to companies like Deliveroo. This gives you the flexibility to work when you want, and you can make up to £16 an hour.
Become A Dog Walker
If you are an animal lover and you want to make some money on the side, dog walking is a great way to do this whilst also keeping fit. You could make around £12 an hour per dog.
Try Peer-To-Peer Lending
If you haven’t heard of Peer-to-Peer lending already, it is a way for people to lend money to individuals and businesses. You receive interest on this investment which is how people make money from this method.
Rent Out Your Spare Room On Airbnb
Whether you have a spare room in your home or if you own a holiday home, you can put this to good use by renting it out on Airbnb to make some extra cash.
Use Your Skills And Become A Tutor
If you excel in a subject you could use this to your advantage by tutoring those who need some extra help, and making money at the same time.
Rent Out Your Parking Space
If you live in a busy area where it is hard to find empty parking spaces, or maybe near a train station, you can rent out your parking space or garage to generate some extra income.
Switch Your Bank Account
A lot of banks will now pay you incentives to take out a bank account with them. I have switched banks 3 times and so far I have made £380, which has definitely helped my savings balance.
I hope that this post has given you some useful ideas to start generating new sources of income. Let me know how you get on or how you make an extra £100 a day in the comments or tweet me @BritOnABudget1!
