How To Save Money: My Frugal Date Night Ideas

When it comes to saving money, it may feel like you need to cut down on spending, or even stop spending money on things that aren’t necessities all together. Wrong! You can still spend money, just in moderation! When it comes to things like date nights, I definitely feel like these are very important in relationships as it’s important to dedicate some time to spend with your partner. Therefore I have put together a few date night ideas that can help you to save money! So without further ado… here goes!

  • Go to the cinema but save money by getting your drinks and snacks from a cheap supermarket. You can also eat something before you go, to avoid all of the temptations when you get there! Lots of cinemas also do deals such as 2 for 1 ticket prices on Sundays.

  • Alternatively to this, you could enjoy a movie night at home – getting some nibbles and lighting a few candles can definitely set the scene!

  • Cook dinner together. Yes it can be something that simple!

  • Go on a hike or a trail walk.

  • Go for a picnic in your local park (obviously depending on the weather as England can be very unpredictable at times)

  • Look for the best deals. You can check websites such as Groupon for this one for anything from activities to a inexpensive spa day. If you fancy a meal, you can look at getting a Tastecard, NUS card or getting a cheap deal with 2 for 1 Meerkat Movies/Meals.

  • Have a bonfire and toast marshmallows for a cosy night in.

  • Go to a local comedy club or gig for a laugh.

  • Go mini golfing.

  • Give each other a massage with essential oils.

  • Host a dinner party with friends – you could take it in turns to go to each others houses (almost like a budget-friendly version of Come Dine With Me!).

  • Go to a local farmers market or car boot sale, it can be fun finding all sorts of treasures!

  • Volunteer at a local animal shelter. My boyfriend and I did this one very recently and I have to say it did melt my heart playing with and walking all the dogs – we are definitely going back to take some treats!

  • Have a game night – hopefully this one won’t cause any arguments!

  • Go to the beach and collect seashells.

  • Paint together. Putting time aside for each other as well as helping to express yourself!

I hope this post has given you a few ideas on how to still have date nights and save money at the same time! As always, let me know if you enjoyed this post by tweeting me @BritOnABudget1.
