I can’t believe another year has flown by and we are now staring 2019 in the face! At the start of a new year I like to take the opportunity to create a fresh start. This means I can sit down and write out a few goals for the upcoming year. Today I would like to share my 2019 goals with you, so I can look back one year from now and see what I have achieved. Keep reading to find out my goals!
Cut Down On Takeaways And Meals Out
My boyfriend and I have a really bad habit of being lazy when it comes to cooking. Instead we end up ordering takeaway or treating ourselves to a meal. As grateful as I am that we can afford to do this, it doesn’t feel as special as it once did.
We’ve also spent a small fortune on food! I have grown up in a household that never went for meals and rarely ordered takeaway, other than as a special treat for birthdays, so I never knew what I was missing out on. I think this goal will be hard to stick to but worth it in the end.
Go To A Big City By Myself
As someone who hardly ever steps out of their comfort zone, one of my goals is to go to a big city by myself. I usually rely on other people so travelling to somewhere that I am not used to will be a big thing for me. I have set this goal so I can find out what I’m capable of.
Max Out My Lifetime ISA
I’m not doing too great at this resolution at the moment, as I still have a lot of money to put in my Lifetime ISA before April. However, hopefully I can keep trying to stick at this one. I would love to max out my allowance and receive the full government bonus.
Read Atleast One Book A Month
I have set this goal because I would like to tackle my Amazon book wish list. I find myself barely reading these days even though I have a ton of books to get through. This is another resolution I will need to work hard at to achieve!
Have 10,000 Followers Across All Social Media Networks
I currently have 4,441 Twitter followers, 3,236 Pinterest followers and 372 Instagram followers. If you want to help me out on this one, you’re very welcome to!
Have £1000 In My Emergency Fund
I have completed this goal a couple of times before although something always comes up, so it goes straight back out of my account again. I suppose that is the whole point of having an emergency fund though! This time I’d like to keep it there, whilst still building it up.
Get A House Of My Own
This year I’d like to move out. We are hopefully planning to move for the end of the year but I’ll let you know how that one goes as I know moving is not cheap!
So that is just a few of my 2019 goals that I wanted to share with you. I’m optimistic that it’s going to be a great year! Please let me know your 2019 goals and resolutions in the comments below or by tweeting me @BritOnABudget1!

It is basically a UK savings account that you either use towards saving for a mortgage on a house or a pension (a 401k if I’m correct). Thank you for reading!
