A lot of people think that in order to save money, you should completely stop spending money on things that aren’t necessities. However, this is wrong. You can still spend money while you are saving, just in moderation.
When it comes to things like date nights, I definitely think that it’s important to set aside some time for your partner with no distractions. Which is why I have put together some date night ideas that won’t break the bank!
Save Money On Snacks
Go to the cinema but save money by getting your drinks and snacks from a cheap supermarket beforehand. You can also eat something before you go, to avoid all temptations when you get there! This is where a “Mary Poppins bag” comes in really useful! Lots of cinemas also do deals such as 2 for 1 ticket prices on Sundays which helps to save a bit of cash.
Make Your Own Cinema
Alternatively to the cinema, you could save a few pounds and enjoy a movie night at home. You can still get some cheap snacks and if you shut the curtains and turn all the lights off it definitely sets the scene!
You can also use a VPN on a streaming service such as Netflix to gain access to TV shows and movies that are not available to watch in your country. You can click here to find the best VPN for streaming movies.
Cook Together
You don’t need to spend a fortune on going for a date, just as long as you’re spending time together. You could cook each other your favourite meals or you could even decide who cooks the starter, who cooks the main and then prepare dessert together.
This date idea might not go down too well with my partner though who prefers that I stay out of the kitchen when he’s cooking!
Get Outdoors
If you’re an outdoorsy person, you might want to go for a hike or a trail walk. This is a double whammy as you’re getting some exercise at the same time! Me and my partner like to go for a walk along the coast – which means we can hit the amusements at the same time (yes we are big kids!)
Have A Picnic
Go for picnic in your local park, you can make your own snacks or buy them from the supermarket. This date idea obviously depends on the weather, as the UK can be very unpredictable at times!

Look For The Best Deals
Look for the best deals. You can check websites such as Groupon for this one for anything from activites to an inexpensive spa day. If you fancy a meal, you can look at getting a Tastecard, NUS card or getting a cheap deal with 2 for 1 Meerkat Movies/Meals.
I hope this post has given you a few date night ideas that you can put to good use! As always let me know if you have enjoyed this post in the comments below or tweet me @BritOnABudget1!
