The benefits of EFT and Life Coaching

As we approach the end of the year, it can be a great time to not only think about what you are thankful for, but also to think about the resolutions, goals and intentions for a better life that you would like to achieve in the new year. If like many people, you may not know where to start when it comes to setting and achieving goals for yourself, whether they are professional, personal or financial goals. Or you may be great at creating goals, but do not have a successful track record for achieving them.

If this does sound like you, you may want to consider a life coach to help you to reach your goals for a richer, more fulfilling life.

What is life coaching?

Life coaching comes in many different forms, however in a simple form life coaching aims to help people to meet goals in their lives. Life coaching can guide people towards new methods to help them solve problems they are facing in their personal or work lives and can set them on a path to achieving their ambitions. Life coaching can be delivered face to face, over the phone, online or even via email.

By having someone such as a life coach who is professionally trained can help you maximise your full potential and reach your desired end goal. They can almost be seen as a supportive friend and a trusted advisor combined into one. They can push you to identify and achieve your goals, hold you accountable and provide encouragement along the way and throughout your journey.

What are the benefits of life coaching?

There are lots of benefits of life coaching, however the benefits you will experience depends on what your specific goals are. Some of the most common benefits people experience are:

  • Learning how to communicate more effectively and efficiently
  • Identifying limiting beliefs
  • Working towards financial independence
  • Improving relationships
  • Articulating core values
  • Bridging the gap between where you currently are and where you would like to be
  • Forming strategies and techniques that facilitates you to reach your goal faster
  • Overcoming obstacles, low confidence issues and insecurities

What is EFT tapping?

EFT stands for Emotional freedom technique and is an alternative treatment for physical pain and emotional distress. It is also referred to as tapping or psychological acupressure. It combines both cognitive and somantic elements and is an evidence-based self-help therapeutic method. It is used to manage emotions, belief and imbalance. It is still being researched, although EFT tapping has been used to treat people with anxiety and people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

In modern practice, it is a mixture of tapping on Chinese acupressure energy points using your two fingers, which stimulates energy in the body along with acknowledging negative thoughts and replacing them with positive thoughts using positive affirmations. According to its developer, Gary Craig, a disruption in energy is the cause of all negative emotions and pain that we feel.

Are you dealing with limiting beliefs?

The first step to achieving your goals is combatting the negative thoughts inside your own head. Sometimes we can be our own biggest critics, and can sometimes self sabotage, believe we are not good enough, or procrastinate some of the tasks that we need to get done. Let’s be honest, we all have them.

If you think back to some of the earliest memories that you have as a child, it is likely that you felt fearless and indestructible, however the older we get, the more we are introduced to a never ending list of how we should act, what we should say and things we should do. This can likely result in you creating limiting beliefs and perhaps maybe even not reaching your full potential.

Once you understand what limiting beliefs are, you may even be able to identify some of your own limiting beliefs. These can relate to, but not be limited to: family, education, or your own experiences in life.

If you are ready to uncover your limiting beliefs and to understand where they come from, you can join Andrea Hunt’s free Life Coaching Live Workshop on December 6th & 7th. This is the first step to changing your mindset and taking the control of your life back into your own hands. Sign up at www.dreahunt.com.
